Meetings of Working Group 1 and 2
On 18th and 19th of November, the annual meeting of both working groups of the Korean-German Energy Partnership took place digitally. The working group on ‘Energy Transition: Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency’ met on November 18th, sharing insights into recent energy policy in both Korea and Germany, reflecting the past activities in the fields of energy efficiency and power supply security and discussed potential topics for activities and events in the next year. The following day, on November 19th, the working group on ‘New Green Energy Technologies: hydrogen and new business models, smart grids and energy storage systems’ met to share policy updates on hydrogen from both countries, reported on studies that were published on the “Status of Hydrogen and Potential for Cooperation Australia, German, Japan and Korea” and “Energy Storage Systems in Korea and Germany” as well as successfully implemented events in the hydrogen and green-tech start-up businesses”. Subsequently, they shared ideas for future activities in the next year.
The Working Group meetings were attended by BMWE, MCEE, adelphi, the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI), KEEI, KETEP, H2Korea and KEA. These Working Group Meetings presented the first opportunity for the new-founded Korean Ministry for Climate, Energy and Environment and the re-named Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to meet. The Working Group meetings were held in preparation for a delegation visit to Korea in December, where amongst others, the 7th Korean-German Energy Day and the 3rd Cooperation Committee Meeting took place.
